Kandjengo Lok

Namibia

Bold, stylised, assured printmaking is Kandjengo Lok’s signature, often capturing scenes of the self-sufficiency of rural Namibian life.  The son of a car mechanic, he grew up in a small village called Elyambala in the far north of Namibia. Kandjengo studied at the John Muafangejo Art Centre (JMAC) in Windhoek and then at the College of the Arts, where he graduated in 2011 having specialised in the oil-based cardboard printing technique that Namibia is known for.  His work is held in the collection of the National Art Gallery of Namibia, amongst others.
